Agriculture :
1. Theory of crop Science – definition, concept, subject area and development, classification of crops, mixed farming, dry farming, crop rotation, sequential farming, multiple cropping and intercropping. Agricultural meteorology: Environmental elements affecting weather and meteorology development, weather forecasting. Origin, history, distribution, types, process of agricultural work of food grains, pulses, oilseeds, fiber crops, fodder crops, nodular and root crops and cash crops.
Animal breeding-Objective of breeding, method of breeding, different species of animals, method of selection of quadrupeds, nutrition and health care of animals, nutrition and health care.
2. Animal diseases- description, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of various diseases of animals, milk production and marketing, healthy production of milk. Soil Science Physical, chemical and biological properties of soil Food and fertilizers, plants Nutritional requirements, sources of nutrition, classification of food and fertilizers.
3. Water Management : Means and methods of water required for various crops, moisture conservation means and methods of irrigation, principle of runoff, advantages and disadvantages of runoff, types of runoff, types of agricultural machines and equipment, their usefulness in various agriculture, methods of ploughing. Objective, methods of ploughing, use in land reclamation.
4. Production of fruits in various vegetables – nursery management for cultivation of vegetables and fruits, preservation and processing of vegetables and fruits.
Basic ideas of exploitation of minerals and water, functions of leaves – transpiration, respiration, carbonization, value and properties of good seeds, types of seeds, principles of seed germination, investigation and effectiveness, utility of different types of seeds in different crop cycles.
5. Entomology – Knowledge of major worms and insects and diseases of major crops and their prevention. Role and objectives of rural basic institutions. Various programs run for rural development in India. State institutions related to farming and farmers, knowledge of various rural projects and records, maps, Khasra, Khatauni.
